The tedious half of a job search, handled.

Your board updates from Gmail

Once a day Kestrel scans your inbox for application emails and nothing else. A confirmation becomes an “Applied” card, an invite moves it to “Interview”. You can always drag a card yourself.

Startup roles, refreshed daily

We pull openings straight from startups' own hiring pages every day, with funding stage, team size and location attached. Closed roles drop off the board on their own.

Missing a company? Ask and we'll add it.

Resume in, portfolio out

Upload a PDF and Kestrel turns it into a clean resume you can tailor per role, plus a hosted portfolio page with a small assistant that answers recruiters' questions about your work.

Founder outreach you sign off on

For roles you care about, Kestrel finds who to write to and drafts a note grounded in what they've built. Every email waits for your approval and is sent from your own address, with a daily cap to keep things human.

Hi Maya, I read your post on grading model outputs with small rubrics. I built something close to it for support tickets last year

Questions

What are AI credits?

Credits pay for the things that run on a language model. Searching the board, browsing companies and moving cards around are free. Here is what each AI action costs:

A message to the assistant1
Reading an uploaded resume2
Tailoring your resume to a role1
Rewriting a resume section1
Analysing your GitHub profile2
Generating your portfolio3
A visitor question to your portfolio assistant1
Drafting a founder email1
Explaining a match score1
Sorting an application email from Gmailincluded

Basic includes 500 credits a month and Pro includes 1,500. Your allowance resets at each renewal; unused credits don't carry over. If an AI action fails, the credits come straight back.

What happens when I run out?

AI actions pause until your next refill or until you upgrade. Everything you've already made stays where it is: your portfolio stays online, your resumes stay downloadable, and your board and saved roles keep working. Nothing is deleted and you're never charged extra without asking.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Every new account gets 30 credits once, enough to import a resume, generate a portfolio and chat with the assistant for a while. No card required.

What does Kestrel do with my Gmail?

Gmail is optional and connected separately from sign-in. With read access, Kestrel looks only for messages about your job applications (confirmations, interview invites, rejections) and uses them to update your board. It does not keep copies of unrelated emails, never uses your mail for advertising, and never uses it to train AI models.

With send access, Kestrel can send the outreach emails you've approved, one by one, from your own address. It never sends anything on its own. You can disconnect in Settings at any time, which also revokes access at Google.

How many founder emails can I send?

Up to 15 a day on Basic and 40 on Pro. The cap is there on purpose: short, specific notes to a few people work better than volume, and it keeps your address in good standing.

Where do the jobs come from?

From the hiring pages startups publish themselves. We check them daily, add new roles and remove closed ones, so what you see is what the company is hiring for today.

How do I cancel?

From Settings, open “Manage subscription” and cancel in a couple of clicks. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free with whatever credits are left. Deleting your account is also in Settings and removes your data.
